Actually the registration papers from the AKC and/or Canadian Kennel Club in Canada shows that your puppy is a purebred registered representative with that registry and of that breed along with other pertinent information such as parents, birthdate etc. and that you are the new owner once the pup is transferred to your name.
Here in Canada, unless that registration from the Canadian Kennel Club can be provided by the breeder, it is illegal to sell a dog or puppy as a purebred.
For $2600 I would certainly expect a lot more than promises.
I bought a finished proven stud show dog last year for $2500 Canadian dollars and he has proven to be a valuable addition to my kennel in the quality of puppies he is producing.
