She probably wants to paly and can't do anything in the crate, and she has just spent all night in there. I'd protest too.
She is in her crate from 8:00am - 11:30am then from 1:00pm - 5:00. Then she is out all night and she sleeps in the bed with us. It is weird, the only time she protests about being in her crate is when I put her in there before I go to work in the mornings. If we have to put her in there any other time (like if she's tired and I put her in there to take a nap on the weekends or if we have company on the weekends we put her in there), then she is fine...she doesn't bark or whine or anything.

I really don't want to put her in my kitchen. I paid a lot of money for this nice size wire crate and I don't want to have to go out and buy a baby gate now. The crate is serving the same purpose as putting her in the kitchen would....it is a nice size so she has her bed in there, a pee pad, and her food and water and some toys. So, do you think it would make her more comfortable to put her crate in the living room with Hobbs, or should I leave her in our bedroom so she can't see Hobbs?
