When I got my second pup, JPop was about 1 1/2 yrs. I tried an expen with Taz, but the little stinker would tear up the pee pad and spill his water and food and just make a big mess. So then I used the expen to barracade the kitchen. He stayed there and JPop stayed in the living room. They could see each other, and just seemed to work better. Guess Taz just wanted more room than he got from the expen.
He was also so much easier to potty train, cause he watched JPop and wanted to do everything his big brother did.
