I can't explain why people prefer females. I guess they think they are less aggressive or more loving My sil has a female lab and that dog will eat you alive if she thinks you are harming her mom. I can tell you after owning, or being owned by cats, the males are much more loving than any of my females ever were. Intially, we wanted a female yorkie, but Trace really stole our hearts.
