I took a stroller which make it better traveling through long terminals. They check the stroller as you board the plane and have it ready when you depart or with us in one case let us put in the over head compartment. Use a cheep umbrella stroller that you can find at Walmart and take the seat out then put the carrier in it. I kept Mya up late the night before. She would pee on her pee pad in the bathroom. I had to force her drink by dipping my fingers in water then touching her mouth. She at a bit of bread, but refused her dog food. When I could like traveling in long hallway with not much people around I let her walk on her leash for a break. She would not pee on a patch of grass out side the terminal. Yes she held it for 15 hours. I guess she was just too usure about what was going on around her. I let her stick her head out in the departure lounge and pat her and others did too. I zipped her up on the flights and she slept through take offs and landings !!! People said they had no idea a dog was on board the plane. I couple of times I took her to secluded part of the airport and just let her be out of her travel bag.
It was a really good experience for us. Oh and of course you have to take the dog out of the carrier so they can xray the carrier. I am sure you will be fine.
