Sadie does that everytime she lays down with me...When we go to bed for the night she digs at the sheets like a little maniac LOL! She will also do this if she is wet, after a bath or coming in from outside is the grass is damp. (when wet) she is trying to dry off. But, other than that I would say she is trying to arrange (what ever she is digging at) to make it comfy for her.
