The concentrated detangler and shine should work well for dry hair since it is silk protein. Also a human product called Antisnap made by Redken works well for hair that is breaking off.
I've never used the Cowboy shampoo, but the concentrated detangler and shine is very different from the Mane and Tail shampoo/conditioner.
