I have always had two dogs and have never had any problems (other than the usual - house breaking, etc.) My dogs have always become fast loyal friends and good company for one another. Plus it is so much fun to watch them run and play. No jealousy - ever!!

At one time, I had two dogs, two cats, and a bird. Plus I worked 20 hours a week. I honestly felt then that I didn't have enough time to give them all the attention they deserved. Seems like my dogs came first - then one cat and finally the other. So - I always felt a little sorry for my fourth pet. He was an affectionate little guy who wanted to cuddle along with the others, but it just seemed like there were always too many other pets in his way.

So - little Duke made "best freinds" with all my neighbors and they adored him and pampered and spoiled him. He even spent nights with them.

So - for me there is a limit (time-wise) to how many pets I can have and give a lot of special attention to.

Good luck - I do think two dogs are much better than one.
