Try using a finger nail brush. I use the finger nail brush first, than i use the doggy brush. I also use a tooth brush for the face area, But be careful around her eyes:

Daisy is only 10 wks and Sissy is 8 mths and they are both doing good on the brushing now. GOOD LUCK..
