We are back from the Vet with the pups... And it was rough on Mommy with her pups gone. She was crying, barking, and acting very anxious. She was apart from the pups for about 3 hours. The pups seem to be fine. They have stitches in their tail and I believe in their paw too. When we got home, Princess was licking and moving them around alot, but now she doesn't want to stay in there with them. She is still crying, barking, and acting very anxious. When she got in the box with them, they all started coming over to nurse, and she kept getting up and not sitting in one place. Now 3 hours later, she is still not relaxing with them at all. She goes in there, looks at them, and then leaves. When we try to close the door with her in there with them, she cries and barks.
Is it OK now that they are 6 days old, that she not stay with them as much? Should I not worry about her wanting to leave them so much? Another poster stated that I could leave the box in an X-pen with the pups in their box, but does Mommy ever get let out of the pen? I think she will cry and bark alot, if she is not allowed to roam the house. Should I move the pups to a part of the house where there is more activity so that she is not always trying to leave them to roam? Any advice?
