I had no idea. I believe that we have a NO KILL shelter, but I am not sure.

I believe the answer is more free spay and neuter clinics. The majority of the clueless people who do not spay and neuter are not able to afford it.

I realize that if they can't afford it they should not get the pet, but that is not the redality. The fact of the matter is, that they do get them, and then let them breed freely becaiuse they have lots of friends who want the puppies. But when the puppies come, the friends no longer want them. Or they take them and the cycle starts all over.

Our state legislature's should push for more funds for free spay and neuter clinics. Olso, if every vet in town did one free one a day, it would decrease the number of unwnted pets a thousand times over.
