Gale, had I been in your shoes, Petco would have
seen an overreaction!!!

I won't allow anyone to take Toto out of my sight, including the vet! Since it's done and there's little you can do except complain, I too would try to get a recommended groomer before I allowed anyone else to groom Nemo. Also, since she shaved his little nose, please keep a close eye on it when it begins to grow out. The hair will be very prickly and can cause eye infections! I had instructed our groomer that I didn't want Toto's nose shaved and she didn't until one day when my husband took her to be groomed! Yep, she shaved it ... I was furious and it has taken months to grow!!

Also, if you just keep brushing Nemo daily and let him know that you're going to do it, he will begin to look forward to it! That's one of our favorite times and Toto will even lie on her back in my lap to get her tummy brushed! It takes lots of attention with the long coat but we have just make it "our" time and she loves it!! If there are other things going on during grooming time, the "no" and "stay" commands come in really handy too!!
