Just read your post on the "pack dogs" and coyotes. Just over 4 years ago we rescued 2 mini mares from a farm and we were blessed with a baby colt that just looks like yours. Then 2 years ago my Friesian mare gave us a colt on July 10th at 11:45pm, and we had the honor of seeing him born. We have a problem with coyotes, they are so bold as to come up to the end of the paddock, we do use the pellet gun on them, lately we have a neighbors pit bull coming around. The animal control officer has said we can protect our livestock if we feel they are being threatened. I have not fired at the dog as yet, however if the day comes that my mare or my little yorkies are threatened then yes I will do that. My little furbabies are kept on our deck and rarely come off it. I have a portion of the deck dedicated to them, they have their little poopy box, umbrella and rugs. Anytime a dog becomes part of the "pack" it is never the same, once they get the thrill of the kill and the taste of blood its over.. I hope you can get this resolve with your local control officer. keep us posted.. Majam - 07/10/04 - 04/07/06
