I use the Concentrated Detangler & Shine, 12 ounces, $22.55 at a local feed store. I really think it would save a dog's coat that you were thinking of shaving because of matts. It has a lot of silk protein in it and no oil. It does feel and look oily right at first, but after drying it doesn't feel greasy or attract dirt. I just bought a very full coated and somewhat curly Yorkie and was suspecting her to be a cotton coat since she kept tangling. She's a little over 5 months now and her coat no longer tangles. Not sure if the Cowboy Magic changed this or she just changed into her adult coat.

I think the spray bottle, must be a diluted formula because mine would never spray from a bottle. A little goes a very long way.
