I don't think they would have put him under anesthia b/c of the price and the waiver you have to sign, but they could have used something to calm him down. I would be very pissed if they did not let me know first no matter what it as they would use. I would call just to check and see if they gave him ANYTHING.... Maybe like someone else said they could have even gave him a food or treat that didn't react with him well and you would still want ot know what that would be just to know to steer clear of it in the future.
