Is this normal? What can I do to prevent her from doing this? Should I keep the pups and Mom in the same place at night as during the day?

Thanks Again,

Audrey,
Are you sure she's taking the puppy in her mouth? I'm just wondering because when Roxy wanted to come in our bed at night sometimes she would leave a puppy on the floor because it would not let go of her boob as she left the box. Not that it matters how the puppy got on the floor, I just thought I would mention it. We had a hard time also, it was every night we'ld hear a baby crying. Sure enough one would be on the floor and she would be passed out on our bed. She just loves to sleep with us. What I did was build a little corral around the puppy box that was to high for her to get out of. She didn't like it but she got used to it. Then atleast while the puppies are very small that's where she belongs. She had freedom all day long to go wherever she likes. At night they should be with their babies when we can't keep an eye on them. These Ladies are just so spoiled by us that sometimes they forget they have responsibility now!
