There is one strap that goes around the console and then two other straps that goes between the seat and back of the driver (and passenger) seat and then hook together to hold it tightly in place. It is somewhat difficult to get the straps through the seats, but the good news is they are attached to the carseat by a loop sewn into it so if you need to remove the console, you can keep these straps in place!!

Sissy also really likes being close to me and is not even content to be on my lap, but has to be in my arms. With the console seat, she can literally lay against my arm. So far, so good - she is right next to me so a much better option than being in the back seat!!

Oh yes, I so wish I could put a bigger console right next to me . That is why I am keeping my small one intact because it is still usable if only one is travelling.

There is only one drawback to this carseat . . it is a pain to put it on so I never, ever take it out. Here's a tip . . . always put a favorite blanket over it so you won't ever have to worry about getting it dirty . . .
