In July, she will be 6 months and the vet recommended that I get her spayed by 6 months. She warned me that she could go into heat if I waited longer...is that true? She is so small though for surgery! The breeder also left a duclaw on her back leg so I was going to have that removed since it's not safe and can get caught on things. The breeder said she didn't even see it because of all the hair back there!

Most vets, if not all, always recommend they get it early. . . .let me first find the thread and then you can decide for yourself if you want to wait a bit longer. As for her going into heat, that should not be a problem . . .especially since there are no male dogs in your house
