My baby's kennel cough has been treated with every kind of antibiotic now....the cough would not go away.....still has not.! BUT.......extensive testing has now shown congestive heart failure. So......., he will always have a nasty cough, and take antibiotics and Lasix for the rest of his short little life.
We are sending up prayers for you and your baby....please keep us updated and know that yorkietalk is an awesome place for support. |
She is on Clavamox. They seem to really be helping because she only coughed once last night and her "cold" seems to be getting better. She is still playing, eating, and sleeping like normal. She has not coughed up any white foam since Tuesday night. We got her from the same breeder we got Hobbs and the first week we had Hobbs, he came down with Kennel Cough. The breeder and the vet both told us that their immune systems are just not fully developed yet and the change in climate and stress probably both brought on the Kennel Cough. Hopefully she'll continue to improve throughout the week.
Myyorkies, I really hate to hear that your little one has congestive heart failure. He is very lucky to have you as a mommy...you obviously take very good care of him. My thoughts and prayers will be with you! If there is any change in his condition, please keep us updated!
I am just hoping and praying that Hootie's condition does not turn into something more serious. I'll keep you updated, though! Thanks for the words of advice everyone!
