I am sure your breeder is trying to be helpful but after reading your first post I think you might want to listen to your veterinarian.
Please let everyone know how he does, Good luck!
The breeder said that she knows for a fact that Metronidazole won't work and it can do more damage. It's ok to give to adult dogs but not to puppies (under a year old). She said another buyer of one of her dogs used this drug, and it made the Yorkie worse and the buyer had to do all sorts of things to make him/her better. I trust the breeder. If I didn't tell the breeder that the prescription bottle said to give Panacur twice a day, I wouldn't know that it was too much. When I called the vet's office to double check, the vet (not Angel's vet) I spoke to acknowledged that it was their mistake. She said that maybe they looked at her weight in kg instead of lb. Panacur should only be given once a day. I would've been overdosing my pup for the 5 days and possibly making her worse. The breeder thinks that the test results should come back negative as my pup has been dewormed many times by her as a precaution due to having many dogs, but if not, I'll have to give her another treatment. I'll let you know how it goes.
