Default question crystal

Crystal, this is exactly what I wanted to do. I leave a pee pad down in the bathroom but would like to pick it up when company is here. The problem is...if the door is closed or there is no pad down...he will still go in the bathroom and not "ask". How do you get them to "ask" to "go"??
Now he is really smart. He will "go" on command. If I take him to someone's bathroom at another house and sa "go pee", he goes. Also, if there is a pad down...he knows he can go on it but if it is not there...he knows he can't. It is only in the bathroom that he will go anywhere or if he doesn't see a pad, he will find a place to go.

I'm at work all day so I trained them to use the pee pad for during the day when I'm not home and when weather is bad. I didn't want to expect them to have to hold it all day or for them to have to go outside if it's overly hot or cold.

So now when I get home I pull up the pee pads and I'm training them to go outside. Their actally doing very well and now their not evern using the bathroom until I get home. But I still leave the pee pads down just in case they do need to go.

Also another plus side is Lucy seems to have a small bladder b/c she always wakes up in the middle of the night and needs to use the bathroom, so instead of having to wake up in the middle of the night, I just put a pee pad in the kitchen and she'll use it and come back to bed.

Oh yea, if you use pee pads don't put them on carpet. (unless you have to) b/c sometime they only hit half of the pad..LOL

Good luck and WELCOME TO YT>....
