I am about to pickup my very first Yorkie pup within the next 2 weeks. It's too young to come home with me at 8 weeks today according to the seller.

I am planning on confining the puppy to the kitchen while I am away from home by using a 16" wide wooden board layed down sideways to block the kitchen entrance. My question is...can a Yorkie eventually jump or climb over this 16 inch wall? I want to avoid purchasing a safety gate style barrier.

I only ask because my last puppy was a Pomeranian and she was able to scale this height successfully much to my amazement.
