Our yorkies typical day is when I leave they run down and wake up my husband. They do not allow him to sleep in once I leave the house. I typically leave the house at about 4:40 am. So, because of this habit my babies picked up, they always get a special treat from Mom. I have VERY long hours. I am usually away from the house about 15 hours. Fortunately, my husband has much shorter hours. Jordan and Skeeter are alone on average 6 to 8 hours. We keep them in the utility room with the door leading into the kitchen latched open and we altered a baby gate and attached it to the door frame with hinges. This way, they can see out. Skeeter ate through a plastic baby gate, so the metal one covered with rubber works. They have their blankets, toys and chewies. The radio is on and we can actually see them from the kitchen window. We have enough room to put down papers if we know we are going to be gone long. Hey, I can't hold it for 8 hours. They have each other and keep each other company. Since we lost our third yorkie, Jackson, in March, they have become really close.
