Thanks Doggrooming for your post, and your experience you have shared. I agree this isn't going to stop the irresponsable people, the fee use to be $25.00 for unspayed, now $60.00. Kitty I hope you don't ever have to deal with this where you live, thanks for your post too. I know one thing, the ones elected now in office that voted this in will definately not get my vote next time.
Doggrooming, I asked yesterday when I was at the animal shelter getting Baby Blessings license what if a friend or relative came to visit us and had a dog, their reply was, "anyone in your household with a dog visiting after 15 days must get a California dog license."
also if you move from another state to here and you don't have a current license you would be penalized here Oh, and I want to add one more thing, the mandatory law is they must be micro chipped to get the license and he didn't even ask for the number or get it either now to me if they are really serious about getting the irresponsable people to comply then this would definately have been a priority, their is no documentation of her micro in their system I am very much in favor of the micro chipping and to me that is the source to track down the owners of irresponsable dog owners as well as finding the owner if a dog is lost. law here to me.
