might be the brush you are using. It might be hurting her by scraping her skin or pulling on the hair. If there are any tangles work from the ends toward the skin. when you got all the tangles out, keep brushing to soothe the skin. This will end in a more pleasant memory of brushing. talk gentle and try to make it a good experience. I don't think any of them really like the face brushed. LOL. all of mine love to be brushed but none of them like it on the face.
could also be the groomer is being too rough and making it a bad experience for her.
