On the vocal part...Cooper is very vocal too. When he wants something, like up on the bed or attention, he will give us this little growl. Unfortunately, my husband and I think this is hysterical and laugh and give him what he wants every time. I think the best thing would be to ignore this behavior and not reward it...but of course I'm not following that advice myself

As for the peeing of excitement...when we will come home after being out for awhile...we walk directly outside and take him out because he has peed from excitement in the past. However, he doesn't do it when someone comes over and such...just if he has been home by himself and is needing to go. I did however, have a female dog years ago who did the peeing from excitement and such and she never outgrew it and did it all the time.
We were never able to correct it, and of course did not punish her for it...I just don't think she could help it.
