So - for those of us who are not going to breed our dogs - it is really the right thing to do.

As far as being afraid to do it -- this is a time when you need to sit down and talk to your vet and voice your concerns. I know we have all heard incidents where dogs have died during the procedure......but I can tell you that my vet's office (three vets) have performed some 1500 spays and neuters and has never lost a pet. Let your vet talk with you about this. Really, he is the expert -- not those of us on YT.
