Well, lexy was first pad trained, and then after she was doing that more or less consistently, I put out the purina litter. BUT, the difference is that I would tape the pad into the litter box, and add only a little bit of the litter. So she would go in the box on top of the pee pad, and I would increase the amount of litter gradually.

She's pretty good about going poo in the box, but she still goes pee on a pee pad I leave outside. I think I'm going to gradually reduce the amount of area of the pee pad outside.

Although they have a few sizes of litter boxes, I wish I had gotten the miniature size one as opposed to the toy sized one. I think dogs need more of an area to sniff around before they potty, no matter how small they are.
