Can you open that pen up to but up against the doggie door? Thats what i do with my little guy. I have it to where his pen is squared off around the doggie door so he has the comfort of a pen in the home but he can go in and out the doggie door to potty while I am at work. The area is pretty large inside but still blocked off so that he can not get in trouble while i am gone. Hope this helps - good luck!
