I did not put them together until Sadie was around 6 months old. I was afraid he would hurt her. He is going to be 13 so he doesn't pay much attention to her now. Occasionally they will play but he gets board quickly. He has alot of patience with Sadie as she is on 2 1/2 and likes to play....McKenzi will just walk away. I have another furbaby on order. I will be getting her by the end of summer...Now,,,,,I am not so worried about the cat....it's Sadie I am worried about...she is spoiled beyond the word. I think the transition from a 1 to 2 dog house is going to be more traumatic for Sadie than McKenzi.

Thank you for the insight! When we got Bailey (the dachshund), we kept him inside for a few weeks with the cats. He was much more interested in them than they were in him. He actually took on a few of their traits and its rather cute! Our cats were younger then so I'm not sure if they will react the same way now that they have a little age on them. I hope so!
