We have an 80 lb golden. He is about 11 years old and so good with small dogs. Very gentle! When Tink was a baby we would tell him to lay down if he got to playing too actively and then Tink would just run all over him and chew on his ears and stuff. We did not get him as a puppy so I'm sure you'll have to work with the puppy to teach him to be gentle. But what fun for little Twinkle!
