OMG-Oliver does the same thing......We'll be just sitting there watching tv or something, and all of a sudden he'll start barking into the air, but not at the direction of anything. We always laugh and say that he must be barking at a ghost. And, it's hard to break his concentration, too. He's not really a barker, thank goodness, unless the doorbell rings, or he sees a cat outside or something like that. But he's doing the ghost barking, he's so intent on whatever it is he's fixed on, that he doesn't hear you call, he doesn't see you walk by, NOTHING. You literally have to go over and touch him to get his attention away from it. Pretty creepy, lol.
