Hi Sherry,
Thanks for the note.. Jazz is on Metacam once a day for pain/anti-inflammatory. I know when I have had other procedures/surgeries with my my other yorkies in the past, they too slept and rested alot... I agree with you that they quickly learn there limits... My concern with Jasmine is since her surgery was on her leg, that she will somehow do further injure it before we have a chance to get it healed 100%... I have just read so many stories about LP surgeries that have failed due to too much activity and use of the leg early on... Example... last night ( the first night off with her soft cast) I put her in her pen for a few minutes to get something. When I came back in the room she was standing on her back legs up on her cage.... I know that has to be painful for her and also NOT good at this point!! She had ligaments tightened & loosened, the groove deepened in her bones for her knee cap to stay in place & 2 pins put in her leg... She has to need some down time.... I just dont want to make a mistake on her recovery... she is 10 months, weighs right at 3lbs and is a very happy girl, so trying to keep her down/low key is a challenge... I hope your Sophie & Winston are doing great!!! |
