Dogs have an incredible sense of hearing and smell. If he is barking at a specific spot in the wall, I would listen to him and check it out. Who knows, maybe a former resident of the house buried something (or someone) in the wall. LOL
All kidding aside, there is a reason that Elmo is fixating on the wall, I would be just way to curious not investigate.
