I had this problem with my 12 week old pup.
Is yours drinking any water? My boy wasn't and ended up getting very sick.
Jake went from being alert and playful to almost unconscious in less than 45 mins due to Hypoglycemia (lack of blood sugar from not eating) - I'm just so grateful that he fell asleep on my lap or it could of been a couple of hours before I realised there was a problem.
He ended up having to be force fed ever two hours for about 2 weeks. So if you end up having to go that route then give me a shout and I'll impart what I know.
Meanwhile try use a High Calorie Dietary Supplement (I used Suppli-Cal from the vet) .. basically its a sweet sugary paste fortified with vitamins ... its pretty tasty as far as a dog is concerned and a healthy puppy will be more than happy to lick a blob of this off your finger.
If s/he's really not eating anything at all within for a couple of days, take him to a vet .... and ask for a couple of syringes to force feed him with.
PM me if you need advice / support re force feeding. |
