I had Logan out at my mom's farm Tuesday night & it was hot so in order to cool off my little man took a dip in the pond. So maybe since there are little kids about you could get a kiddie pool or set up the sprinkler than everyone can play in the water & cool off.
I understand about your dad, my dad is the same way. Everything goes through mom & he always seems to be pissed off. However, my dad likes dogs, but he doens't like it when logan gets to playing & barking. It sounds like the family is stressful right now period, with a grumpy dad & new baby. I would just suggest spending some alone time with your baby. Let her know that it's okay & this won't be forever. She's probably a bit nervous about all the stuff going on.
