I would change vets since she instructed you to give the 1/2 tablet in the first place.
25mg of Benadryl for a puppy. No wonder she was bugged eyed. The normal dose is about 1-2mg per pound. 25mg is enough for a 50 pound dog.

I would also bath her with a mild shampoo and make sure you rinse her well. You could even add a bit of vinegar to a final rinse water. Also I would put her on a single protein/carb food. Lamb and rice, potato and fish, something like that. I would steer clear of any food with corn for now.
