But she's not african. That would be like me, and Italian white girl from Jersey, naming my kid Juan, Ping, Jignesh, or something other than the ethnicity that I am. That's just my opinion. Wanna know something funny? Because I grew up here and don't speak Italian (and neither do my parents), it would take a lot for me to name my kid Vincenzo or Alfredo.
I would do that, though, than name my child an African, Indian, Spanish, etc. name since I am not from those countries.
