Sorry, I used to help run a baby names forum that was just as big as this so I get all worked up about names. I LOVE when names are rooted in historical context (like Shiloh) or when they even are inanimate objects that mean something to the parents (like Apple). Even if they are "strange", at least they're not overly common like all of our names. |
I'm not really into uncommon names. My parents used to spell my name: Niki, and when I was a kid I could never find anything with my name on it in the stores!

My friend had a nice name, or so I thought: Suneetra. She HATED it, and had us call her Sunee. I think kids would rather have a common name so they don't get made fun of. I have one student called: Shmagi. Let's just say, I'm sure he doesn't like his name right now.
