Default Just got my first Yorkie - need advice

Hello all! I am so glad to have found you!

After a long search and a horrid experience with internet fraud and a breeder scam I finally have my first (notice I said FIRST ) Yorkie.

Mia is 13.5 weeks old 2 lb 7 oz - would y'all agree she will likely end up 4 - 5 lbs? I bought her from a breeder in FL. She is CKC.

She flew in to NM on Sunday and seems to be doing well.

We were confining her in our kitchen, but I think it is a bit big, so today bought a play yard - the kind in sections you put on the floor. She was pretty good on paper training, but had numerous "near misses" so think she needs a smaller area.

My son is a competitive gymnast and my daughter a competitive fencer, so we are planning to take her on our travels. Any training suggestions/hints?

I also have a 100+ lb chocolate lab who is VERY careful with Mia.

Any other helpful hints/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have wanted a yorkie for years and she is very loving. My daughter (almost 13) wants to be with Mia 24/7, so I'm sure she will be quite spoiled. I just don't want her to be too controlling.

thanks a million!
