I dont think there are any health problems with spaying or neutering early
While i haven't learned of any life threatening problems with neutering earlier, there still are other problems that can occur. In some male dogs and cats, when they are neutered too soon their urethra doesn't have enough time to mature so they are prone to stones, UTIs, and blockages. There were alot of male cats and dogs that i helped 'unblock' and let me tell you it is not fun for anybody. As for females, some that were spayed early were shown to have incontinence later in life and more uti's when they are younger.

So the only problems i can think of really have to do with the urinary tract. If I think of any others i'll let you know
