I feel for you. You will definitely need to be firm with both your stepdaughter and your husband. These pups are fragile. I won't let a little child pick up my baby. They can only sit on the floor and she can crawl in their lap, but that is all. If they drop her, she can die. And she can be very squirmy when excited. That is the reality - so just let them both know in no uncertain terms that what you say is law - or they don't every touch the puppy again!
