It is sad that the craze nowadays are the tinier the better when it comes to pets. I personally wouldn't want a Yorkie or any dog that was so small! I just couldn't imagine.
I picked my daughters friend up last weekend and seen her mini schnauzer for the first time since it was first brought home. I mentioned how big she had gotten since the last time I had seen her and boy, did I hear about it. I didn't mean it as being overly big or overweight or anything, just how much she had grown up since I had last seen her. Boy, she was so ticked off for the longest time. Course, the sad thing is, she is now looking for a small long hair chihauha (?) and I just hope it wasn't because of my comments. - This coming from a 12 year old animal lover - yeah, sounds like she loves her animals if the one she has isn't good enough anymore, huh?
Then again, I understand people saying how big your Yorkie looks, even if it isn't big at all. I have had numerous occasions where people will say something about how Mojo is bigger than their dog or so on. I just tell him his weight (between 5-5.5lbs) and that he is healthy. Course, to me, with his hair long, he looks bigger than normal, but in my eyes, he is perfect!!! ha!
Anyway, I wanted to add to my other post that my vet (not tech) told me that a man came in awhile back looking for Yorkies to breed, but he did not allow anything under 4.5lbs. She couldn't believe it. She said that she thinks 5-10lbs is ideal. Everyone is different though
