When I had radiation on my thyroid (twice), my dentist put me on a flouride treatment because he said that radiation can sometimes cause you not to produce enough salvia and therefore, it causes cavaties and dental problems. He said that most techs are good about the radiation and therefore, there shouldn't be any cause of tooth decay, etc. But, sometimes, the techs don't pinpoint the area and extra radiation goes where it shouldn't or something like that. I have bad teeth anyway, but haven't had any problems since my last treatment.
