Question

This thread got me wondering about the dangers of the medication. I do agree that it is better to give it than risk your dog getting heartworms but have always tried to give my dogs as few doses a year as possible. It gets cold here so they only need it about half the year. Anyway, I've been reading online about it and a lot of people say it is safe to give the medication every forty five days instead of every thirty. One of the reasons they say vets tell you every thirty days is because it is easier for people to remember but the chemicals are effective for at least forty five days. Has anyone else heard this or give it to your dogs this way?
