It's people like that who, in my honest opinion, did NOT research the breed before purchasing their furbaby or they would have known Yorkies come in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. And it's also people like that that make me wonder what in the heck they are gonna do with this same furbaby if he/she grows to be bigger than what they thought!! When I purchased Gabby, the breeder told me (and I saw the parents) how much the parents weighed and that Gabby "could" be around the same size. I was never mislead to believe she would stay around 5 pounds. She now weighs in at a whopping 16 pounds and I wouldn't trade her for anything!!! So to the idiotic people you encountered in the vet, she wouldn't be an elephant (some others have that title at 10 pounds) - she'd be more along the lines of the prehistoric mammoth!!!
