I got Hobbs fixed about a month and a half ago. I was SOOOO nervous. So, in an attempt to ease my anxiety, I did some research and compiled a list of questions. Then I called the vet and made an appointment to go in and ask him my list of questions. If your vet is not willing to sit down and talk with you, then I agree, you need to find another vet. Just simply talking to the vet really eased my mind. At least after talking to him, he knew who I was, and I felt like he would take really good care of Hobbs. Normally, they require the dogs to stay overnight after a neuter, but the vet let me take Hobbs home, since I was worried about leaving him when no one was going to be there. Like someone already said, make sure they use isoflourine gas. Also ask them what time they will be done with the surgery and call to check on him. I am sure everything will be fine. Hobbs was not even 3 lbs when he got neutered. They said that waht they do is weigh the dog, then plug the weight into the anesthesia machine which automatically administers the anesthesia. So, no worries about them getting too much. Good luck! Let us know how everything turns out.
