Do the preop blood tests. Make sure your vet uses isoflurane gas and does not give a preinjection anesthetic. Talk to him about if he uses a tracheal tube which can damage these little ones trachea.
Of course, anesthesia is always a risk and we are going to worry no matter how much we trust our vet. Many Yorkies go through this everyday and many breeders are now opting to sterilize at 8 weeks, rather than trusting the new owners to have it performed.
Every heat cycle she goes through you are risking pyrometra which can be fatal. Also the earlier a female is spayed the greater the health benefits. It is preferable to have them spayed before the first heat, but you still get health benefits no matter what age so don't delay, if you don't plan on breeding.
