Hope this is the right forum for this...
Tinka is 5 months old and her ears are not standing up. Her breeder showed me how to tape them and I have been doing that. When the tape comes off, the ears may stay up for a day or two then back to floppy.
The standard for Yorkies is to have erect ears and I really wanted her ears to be like that. Today when I re-taped them, it actually made one of the ears more floppy, so I took the tape off.
Any ideas on how to make the ears stand up? I know sometimes at this age, they can still go from floppy to erect, but what is the percentage for that? I really, really want her ears UP! I know it doesn't affect their personality and all that, but when I see pictures of little ones with their ears the way they're supposed to be, it bothers me that Tinka's aren't like that.
I don't know if I should call the breeder again. She has been helpful, but I'm wondering if she is getting sick of helping me. Is it their responsibility since they bred the dog? Can a vet do anything else to help?
Thanks for any insights,
omega
