Great advice you're getting!
I'm not married either but one thing I have noticed in all the "successful" couples around me is that they take time apart from one another.
They'd take individual trips/vacations with their own friends. This gives the other person (and yourself) to miss you. When you're back, not only you're refreshed from the vacation but your relationship is "renewed" as well.
